So it's been a bit since I've posted anything. PAW (Primate Awareness Week) went great! I loved Daniel Beltra's talk. Look him up on the web, he takes the most beautiful and thought provoking pictures! Another great talk was by the director of PASA, Pan African Sanctuary Alliance. He talked a lot about the work they're doing in Africa with all their sanctuaries and trying to re-introduce as many primates as they can back into the wild. Awesome work being done! Check them out at pasaprimates.org. So it was successful and we got some good turn outs.
This summer instead of being normal and not having school I've decided to take classes. Lame I know! But once I take these last 2 classes I can focus completely on my Primate and Anthropology studies! I already have almost a third of my Anthropology classes done thank heavens. The primate classes are hard because there are only a couple offered every quarter so you have to get into them while you can. And they tend to conflict scheduling wise with my other classes. But PAW really got me re-motivated about classes and school. I still have a long ways to go with my double bachelors but then I can take a small break and get some work experience, maybe at a sanctuary here in the states, and then move onto my masters. I've been looking at Oxford-Brookes in the UK, which is the only other Primate masters program in the world, other than the one here at CWU. I would LOVE to go there! It seems like their program is centered a lot around primate conservation which is exactly what I want to do. Or maybe I'll just flat out move to Africa somewhere, maybe Rwanda, and just show up at a sanctuary and say "What's up I need a job because I moved all the way here for the gorillas." That's kind of what happened with the PASA director. He was a hollywood make-up artist and one day just moved with his wife to Africa and fell in with the sanctuary crowd. How awesome is that? I wonder if it'd work if I did it right now. Just up peaced out to Rwanda... that'd be AMAZING.
So on the music front a new great artist.../band? I've been listening to is Wakey!Wakey!!! Such a cool sound! I love the song 1876-The Brooklyn Theatre Fire and Almost Everything and Brooklyn... man the whole "Almost Everthing I Wish I'd Said The Last Time I Saw You" album is stellar. There some good upbeat songs that just make you want to go be outside and dance and some beautiful ballads. Another artist I'm loving right now is Andrew Belle. He does this duet with Erin McCarley called "In My Veins" It's so beautiful. His lyrics are great. I also love his song "Open Your Eyes." So look them up if you're in need of new music.
Well I'm at work and I need to start getting breakfast put together so I'm gonna peace out for now. I'll post again soon about some other great music I'm listening to right now.

Just words
Well work is almost done for the day. I got some laundry folded, took two loads of laundry upstairs, got breakfast set up, and even did some homework. In about 2 hours I'll be headed off to class and then more classes.
I'm involved in a club here at CWU called Primate Awareness Network. Basically we try and do things that educate people about things that are going on that are causing harm to primates, their enviroments around the world, etc. So this week is Primate Awareness Week; happens every year during the spring quarter. All week we have different primatologists, anthropologists, and lots of other people coming to campus to talk on different things like research projects they've been involved in lately or topics that they're experts on. We even have a wildlife conservationist photographer coming that has taken some AMAZING pictures! (I never realized that there is a "wildlife conservation photographer" career.) His name is Daniel Beltra. Look up his work! Anyway I'm super excited for all the talks and events planned for this week! I hope we get some good turnouts for the talks. My friends think I'm a total nerd for getting excited about stuff like this. I mean who really gets excited to go hear a talk about chimpanzees and their imaginary play right? Well I do!
So that's about it for now. Here is a picture I took yesterday morning as I was leaving work. This is what I get to look at every morning as I leave!

My DVD won't play on my computer! Boo!
I'm sitting here at work and I'm so tired! I had 3 nights off so I slept at night instead of during the day. But today I only got 2 hours of sleep before I had to come to work so I'm exhausted. I rented 127 Hours to watch while at work and my computer says I have to change the screen resolution to be able to watch it!! But I've already had problems with my screen resolution being all weird and changing on its own so I don't really want to mess with it. So instead I'm writing this. I guess I could be doing homework or something important like that, I'm just not in a motivated mood. All I want to do is sleep but after I get off work I get to go straight to my English class. (Which by the way is going to be so easy it's lame. I'm bored already and class has only met once so far.)So I have this professor from Mongolia and let me tell you, I could barely understand him at first! But after 3 days of his class I'm getting better at understanding him. He is so cute though! He compared shamanism and when shamans get possessed by the some spirit to Michael Jackson in Thriller! But it's even funnier when he says stuff like that because of his accent. I definitely have to pay attention in his class!
Ok new favorite song!! It's call Open Arms by Gary Go. It's just really pretty and about keeping your head up. Look it up on youtube or something! Here's the lyrics for just the chorus:
Gotta look myself in the eye
And say it’s gonna be alright
Maybe everything won’t be alright
All the time
I’ve gotta take these chances where they are
And it’s gonna be alright
I’ve gotta see things for what they are
At the time, at the time
LOVE IT!!! Alright well I'm signing off to be responsible and do some homework. Hopefully I get something accomplished! Auf wiedersehen for now!
